Tóm tắt
Confucianism was introduced to Vietnam more than 2,000 years ago, contributing significantly to shaping Vietnamese traditional cultural values. Today, Confucianism no longer directly guides Vietnam’s socio political practices. For social development, however, it is important to study the merits and drawbacks of Confucianism on the development of modern society. In this paper, the author presents Early Confucianism’s concept of education’s position, purpose, content, and methodology. The article also analyzes Early Confucianism’s education values as well as its negative effects in Vietnam and its solutions to inheritance, 
 promotion, and limitations.
