DECISION No DECISION No. 344-TTg ISSUED BY THE PRIME MINISTER ON THE 4 th OF JULY 1994 ON THE MERGER OF THE GENERAL STEEL CORPORATION AND THE GENERAL METALS CORPORATION UNDER THE MINISTRY OF HEAVY INDUSTRY THE PRIME MINISTER Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government issued on the 30th of September 1992; At the proposal of the Ministry of Heavy Industry contained in Note 1611-TCCBDT filed on the 30th of June, 1994. DECIDES: Article 1.- To merge the General Steel Corporation and the General Metals Corporation under the Ministry of Heavy Industry into the Vietnam General Steel Corporation. Article 2.- The Minister of Heavy Industry shall direct the quick merger stipulated in Article 1 on the principle of not allowing any loss of State property and not hindering the normal activities of these units in the merger process. Article 3.- After the merger, the Ministry of Heavy Industry shall work out the procedures to re-establish the Vietnam General Steel Corporation in compliance with Decree No 388-HDBT issued by the Council of Ministers (now the Government) on the 20th of November, 1991, and Decision No 90-TTg issued by the Prime Minister on the 7th of March, 1994. Article 4.- The Minister of Heavy Industry shall appoint a temporary General Director to run the work of the Vietnam General Steel Corporation until it is re-established in accordance with current prescriptions. Article 5.- The Minister of Heavy Industry, the other ministers and the heads of the agencies of ministerial level and the agencies attached to the Government are responsible for implementing this Decision.
